Byomkesh Gowtro Story: Satyakam (Arjun), a young businessman and a Casanova from Mussoorie, visits Byomkesh in Kolkata and asks him to investigate his inevitable murder. Soon, after the Satyanweshi reaches the hill town with Satyabati (Sohini) and Ajit (Rahul), Satyakam is shot dead.
Byomkesh Gowtro Review: If you are expecting a re-run of the signature Arindam Sil Byomkesh flick that’s racy and thrilling, you’ll be a mite disappointed with Byomkesh Gowtro. But if you’re a fan of the Satyanweshi’s depth of knowledge and deduction skills, this film is certainly up your street.
Byomkesh Gowtro is more brain than brawn. In fact, the victim, Satyakam (Arjun), has more action scenes than the master sleuth. But then, the latter makes up for it by not mincing his words when a warning needs a fitting reply. Nor does he hold back on punches when a few need to be landed right.
But yes, right from the poetic exchanges between Byomkesh, Satyabati and Ajit to the depth of their commentary on issues of historical and socio-political relevance in 1952
